Originally from a very small town in Upstate New York, Tyler is a NYC-based theatrical lighting designer, design assistant, and production electrician for musical theatre, dance, drama, and live entertainment. Most recently the head electrician on the "Beetlejuice" 1st National Tour, he discovered theatre at the age of 10 after falling in love with a high school production of The King and I, and has been pursuing the craft since. He began his theatrical journey as a performer and dancer, before shifting to audio and carpentry, and ultimately finding his home in the world of lighting. Mentored by several inspiring designers and technicians early in his training, Tyler developed a design approach rooted in collaboration, attention to detail, and storytelling. After studying at New York University, he has worked across the United States, Canada, and Mexico on Broadway National Tours, Off-Broadway, Dance Tours, Regional Theatres, New York Fashion Week, and more. In his professional career, Tyler has collaborated with Tony Award-winning lighting designers and creatives from all over the world, gaining a wide range of technical and artistic skills. He finds joy in crafting layered worlds in which actors, scenic, and light mingle to create memorable moments. His favorite musical is Kinky Boots, a show that celebrates identity and authenticity, values he carries into every creative process. Beyond the theatre, he enjoys exploring cities, discovering great food, and spending time with cats.
